Thomas Lake received one of the highest awards recorded in Illinois for an injured police officer in a workers’ compensation claim. The officer sustained work injuries, which ultimately prevented him from continuing in his usual and customary occupation as a police officer. After a trial and appeal, the officer was ultimately paid a settlement that was one of the highest recorded settlements for injuries similar to those of the police officers.
