Matthew Dudley and Kevin Golden represented an eight-year-old boy who suffered from a lack of oxygen prior to birth, resulting in permanent and irreversible brain damage. The boy was awarded $24,000,400, one of the highest medical malpractice verdicts in the history of the state of Illinois. The jury concluded that the doctor failed to properly interpret a nonstress test and an ultrasound, both of which revealed very nonreassuring findings. Dudley & Lake retained five highly credentialed medical experts in order to establish that the defendant was guilty of medical malpractice and the caretaking needs that would be needed.
“When representing the victims of medical malpractice, it is important to know and understand the resources that will be used by the liability insurance companies to defend the case. Dudley & Lake is proud to be one of the select law firms that are capable of “matching” resources so that their clients receive the highest quality of representation.”
