$8 Million Settlement For Man Who Suffered Brain Injury During Hospital Treatment

Kevin Golden settled a case in the amount of $8,000,000 on behalf of a 20-year-old man against Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. The man suffered a brain injury while being treated for brain cancer at the hospital. While in admittance for chemotherapy, the plaintiff’s sodium levels shot up, resulting in a grand mal seizure that put him into a coma for approximately 10 days. The plaintiff suffered a severe brain injury and is currently confined to a wheelchair, along with being diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, behavioral disorder, seizure disorder, cognitive disorder and impulse control disorder. The plaintiff remains in the care of his parents with his cancer in remission. The medical error seriously injured a young man who would have led a normal life.
