$650,000 Settlement After Radiologist Fails To Properly Interpret CT Scan

The plaintiff went to the emergency room and made complaints of stomach pain and constipation. The plaintiff underwent a CT scan of her abdomen, and the scan revealed “free air,” which is consistent with a perforated bowel. The radiologist failed to identify the “free air,” and the plaintiff was discharged home. The plaintiff returned two days later with increased abdominal pain and was diagnosed with a perforated bowel. The plaintiff underwent emergency surgery and was hospitalized for 25 days.
