Thomas Lake settled a cause for $1.7 million for a 50-year-old man who was injured in a work accident in Cook County. The jury accepted Mr. Lake’s contention that his client, a 50-year-old union glazier, was injured as a result of the negligent conduct of the defendant’s employee. Essentially, the defendant, through their employee, failed to secure and control a stack of glass weighing approximately 1,000 pounds. As a result of his injuries, Mr. Lake’s client was no longer able to return to work as a union glazier and suffered significant wage loss. The trial lasted approximately ten days.
