John M. Burke is of counsel to the firm, having previously founded the firm of Burke & Burke in Chicago. He has specialized in plaintiffs personal injury work emphasizing products liability, medical malpractice and construction accidents. Jack tried the first asbestos case in Illinois resulting in a landmark decision expanding injured parties rights in Illinois and throughout the country. He served as the Chairman of the Tort Council for the Illinois State Bar Association and has been on the Board of Managers for the Illinois Trial Lawyers since 1983. He has obtained numerous verdicts and settlements in excess of a million dollars during his career. Recent verdicts or settlements include $2.5 million for a laborer injured in a trench cave-in; $1.7 million for a glazier injured by falling glass; and $2 million for a carpenter injured in a roof collapse.
